Hace mucho tiempo que Stage6 pasó a ser un habitual de Pisito. Muchísimas páginas se han hecho de oro gracias a indexarle pero después de muchos tira y afloja, problemas con contenidos con copyright y demás historias, Stage6 avisa que cerrará sus puertas el día 28 de Febrero de 2008.
En la página web podemos ver una explicación detallada de la historia de Stage6 y los motivos por los que cierra.
So why are we shutting the service down? Well, the short answer is that the continued operation of Stage6 is a very expensive enterprise that requires an enormous amount of attention and resources that we are not in a position to continue to provide. There are a lot of other details involved, but at the end of the day it’s really as simple as that.
Supongo que el motivo principal será el coste pero creo que otros pequeños detalles habrán tenido mucho que ver, sobretodo los relacionados con los temas de copyright. Echaremos de menos a Stage6 (aunque las páginas que le indexaban ya no son lo que eran) pero siempre nos quedará sidereel para ver las series y Vimeo para HD.

Me enteré ayer y, como tu, saqué en claro dos cosas:
1. Coste: tanto el mantenimiento como las posibles consecuencias por alojar contenido protegido (todas las series y demás) con copyright.
2. Desarrollo de negocio: han popularizado su tecnología así que ahora podrán venderla para que otros lo hagan…
Dos pájaros de un tiro: una pena pero en fin, la vida sigue :-))
